Today was a beautiful day in Moose Factory. Friends and family gathered at the Cree Village Ecolodge for the final preparations to welcome Randy to his final resting place.
As the remains of Randy Kapashesit started its journey home to Moose Factory, family members and friends gathered at the Cree Village Ecolodge. It is here that a tipi has been built for Randy, and a sacred fire has been lit which will burn for four days.
After the fire ceremony, and a small feast, the friends and family gathered outside to await the plane which flew overhead and circled Moose Factory before landing in Moosonee.
The night was warm and calm for Randy’s final trip across the Moose River.
Randy is home..
